COVID-19 Health and Safety 2022-2023

On-Campus Health and Safety

We work diligently to ensure the campus is a safe and functioning environment for all employees and students. As we come together, we must follow all necessary procedures and protocols to keep our community healthy.

Daily Symptoms Screening

Parents/guardians are asked to fill out a brief health screening survey (SchoolPass) at home every morning before heading to school.

Parents/guardians should look to see if the child has any symptoms associated with COVID-19. The assessment should also include a history of exposure to persons with known or suspected COVID-19. Students with evidence of an acute illness should not report to school.

In general, everyone must follow these pillars of community health:

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well or exhibiting any COVID-related symptoms or a fever. You must be fever and symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to campus.
  • Do not send your child to school if they are exhibiting symptoms.
  • Answer the health screening questionnaire honestly every day.
  • Inform the school if you or your child has tested positive for COVID by sending an email to health@ntkuandai.com.
  • Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not readily available. Hand sanitizer is provided throughout campus. Children under age 9 should use hand sanitizer only with adult supervision.

    COVID-19 Testing

Testing is available for students on Wednesdays with Heluna Health. We will continue with responsive testing as necessary.

Symptom Check List

People with the following symptoms may have COVID-19:
  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Masks

Indoor mask guidelines at schools have shifted from required to recommended per City of Pasadena guidelines. It is important to note that this change, while significant, is only one piece of a larger exposure management plan. Other pieces of the plan, such as assigned seating, frequent hand washing, daily screening, etc. are not changing. We are still expected to contact trace on the occasion that we have a positive case. We ask that you send your child to school with two fresh masks daily in the event of a positive case on campus.
